The darkest minds The darkest minds by Alexandra Bracken is the first book in ”The Darkest Minds” series. An absolutely spectacular dystopian novel that has the ability to captivate the reader on so many levels.

Ruby had lived 10 years of normal and safe life even though she has witnessed few of her classmate die due to mysterious disease. She never bothered about anything until she woke up on her 10th birthday and her parents reported her to police and along with a group of teenagers branded ‘dangerous’  she was sent to a  brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” These children might have survived the disease but they have emerged with something dangerous- supernatural abilities. After 6 years of torture and fearful life she escapes and joins the other kids to find a place where people like her are living safely. On the way to this place she falls for Liam a brave kid  with good heart but she can’t get near to him, not after what happened to her parents that night. Her powers are her curse but soon she realizes that she is more powerful than she gave herself credit for. People will try to use her powers in every way possible against government if they find out.

I really enjoyed reading this novel, my rating: 3 out of 5. I didn’t like the ending it was kind of predictable. But I am eager to read the remaining books in the series.

13 little blue envelopesGood young adult novels are always refreshing. I am a young adult fiction fan, as most of the books I read are from this category. ”13 little blue envelopes” is a travel related different young adult story. It is the first book in the Little Blue Envelopes series. I liked the premise and enjoyed reading. Other than the dramatic ending the book was good.

Dead Aunt sends niece on this unpredictable and slightly loony journey. When Virginia Blackstone (Ginny) receives the first blue envelope from her Aunt Peg in the mail, it sends her on an exciting and unknown adventure collecting remaining 12 blue envelopes and finding the clue and places. It is like she is playing the treasure hunt game with her aunt again  just like how it was in her childhood, except that her aunt is dead now. 17  year old Ginny sets on this adventure without thinking twice and reaches her first destination London, from there on its one big ride. What is the intension of this journey? Where will this unknown adventure take her?

Its a quick read, I finished reading  this book in a day. I don’t know whether or not the places mentioned in this book are Geometrically correct because I have no clue about that. But it was one heck of a journey. Romance is very weak in this book. Love interest between Ginny and boy from London was boring. End was little dramatic and unexpected, it could have been something different and exciting. My rating: 3 out of 5. If you are looking for a adventure filled young adult travel fiction for a change, then this is good choice.

Pretty Little LiarsIts one of my favorite young adult novels, even though I read it once long back, I wanted to read it once again before I review it. I really appreciate the author for creating such a wonderful suspense story. I so wanted to read the remaining books but I was caught with other books. I watched Complete 1 season of ”Pretty little liars” and 2 season is  waiting to be watched in my system. I heard that they are broadcasting the 3 season next week on ABC family.

Imagine you having a popular BFF and everyone wants to be you, but you are not sure weather having such a BFF is curse or blessing. This is how it  is for Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily. Their BFF Alison disappears during the slumber party. After her disappearance, the four friends gradually drift apart until no one can even recall they were once friends. It’s now three years later and the teens are about to start their junior year. Spencer is very clever and competitive with her older sister about everything, Hanna is now the new model like girl but carries a terrible secret about her drastic makeover,Aria is back from Iceland with her family and has a crush on a new boy, unfortunately she just found out he’s her new English teacher, and Emily is the  good girl doing what she can to please her parents, that is until she meets Maya and finds out a new change in her. All four have secrets and they shared it only with Alison who took it with her to grave or thats what they think until it all starts coming back to them haunting. They start getting message and mails about their little secrets by A. Their life is complete mess now!  Who is A? What happened to Alison? What are their secrets?

Now that I read this book, I will soon start reading remaining books from ”Pretty little liars series”. Once I finish this series I want to read Lying game by the same author.
