Chosen at Nightfall ”Chosen at Nightfall” is the 5th and final installment in ”Shadow Falls” series. A thrilling end to the epic best seller YA paranormal series. It had everything to catch my attention from the first book, a awesome kick ass heroine, love triangle between flawless heroine who is struggling to get to know her true powers, a bad ass werewolf and a handsome faerie.

Now that Kylie is away from shadow fall she is still struggling to to adjust with her kind. To be a chameleon is not that easy they are very strict and old fashioned people who never allow their children to go out to the real world. However angry she must be on her boyfriend Lucas, but she has to return to the camp. There is someone targeting her loved ones and this time she can’t give up. Will she fit in the paranormal world? Will her kind accept her to go into the dangerous task? What will happen to her love life? Who is really in danger? To get answers for this questions you will have to read the book.

I don’t want to spoil the series for others who didn’t read, but I am glad that Kylie made the right decision about her relationship. I am happy about how the series ended. My rating: 4 out of 5. It is must read series for paranormal fiction fans.

Anya's Ghost

Recently I  have been reading a lot of graphic novels. Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol  is a beautifully illustrated graphic novel about a teenage girl named Anya. It gets deeper into her life and her feelings as she struggles to maintain the cool at school. Being a immigrant from Russia she has to face so many things to get it straight. I enjoyed the beautiful art and  interesting story, even though the story feels predictable and old I am sure readers will enjoy it.

Anya Borzakovskaya  is got the normal teenage insecurities going on and her desire to blend in is compounded by being a Russian immigrant. She looks around her and sees skinny, blonde and effortless perfection compared to her. She is upset that her crush is going out with such perfect girl. She is not that good at making friends too but one day she finds this awesome friend who is ready to help her in everything. Her grades go up, she feels confident and beautiful. She has got this BFF who is fabulous but her best friend is a ghost. Now you will have to read and find out what happens next.

As the story was old school and easy to predict my rating: 3 out of 5. But it is a good book and I recommend this to graphic novel fans out there.

Tempted”Tempted” is the 6th book in ”House of Night” series. Seriously I am tempted to tare it apart. I just didn’t enjoy this, it felt more like a cold, left over meal which is impossible to taste good despite of reheating. I don’t mean to offend those who loved this book. I liked the first few books in the series but as I started reading more I just felt that the books became repetitive and less interesting. Zoey has become one of the most irritating characters in YA, and this series seems to be irritating.

The book starts off with Zoey and her many many men, all these men and their obsession with Zoey is really annoying. And I don’t see why it is that difficult to pick one for her, how can she love everyone? I just don’t see anything good in the main character. She is confused and troubled unnecessarily.

Zoey and her friends can now breath again, they tried sending immortal Kalona back and succeeded. But that doesn’t end the troubles, there is no break for Zoey. There is something dangerous lurking in the darkness of tunnels and Stevie Rae is hiding something from Zoey. Immortal Kalona is back in her dreams where he has found a new way to get into her life. There is cold war going on between Eric, her human boy friend and  new warrior this means more boy issues. When everything is falling apart how can Zoey find a way to get rid of her problems?

My rating: 2 out of 5.Have you ever read a book that’s so irritating you can’t help but think, ‘It would be great if most of the characters died, especially the main character because she is so annoying? If your answer is YES then you’ve probably been reading this series 🙂

My Horizontal Life- A collection of one night standsChelsea Handler is a comedienne best known for her show, Chelsea Lately, as well as her previous books (Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea and Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang). As the title indicates, this book contains several funny incidents about authors one night stands. Here author tells the disasters of one night stands she has experienced in her life.

Chelsea isn’t shy and she loves a lot of men, which lead to a lot of night stands.  In MY HORIZONTAL LIFE Chelsea chronicles her escapades with a Vegas stripper, a well endowed little person, a cruise ship performer, her landlord, her gynecologist, a Washington politician with a coke habit, black men, Latino men, small penised men. And also she tries to get her virgin roommate to have some fun with men by hooking her up, which ends in even more big disaster.

After reading this book it seems like author really has got this slutty streak, whatever! but this book was hilarious. But I enjoyed her previous book- ”Are you there Vodka? It’s me Chelsea” better. My rating: 3 out of 5. It was a light and funny read.

Zom-B AngelsZom-B Angels is the 4th installment in Darren Shan’s ”Zom-B” series. This book was a lot less action packed than the first 3. But it did answer some of the questions that I had been asking during the other books. Here a few more characters are introduced and the story gets a new twist.

After spending few months out side in London with walking dead people B has forgotten about normal life. But soon she finds strange signs all over the city-a “Z” plus red arrows. By Following them, B finds The Angels- a group gathered in the hopes of combating the evil dead and the forces that introduced them. It seems that they are also aware of this hideous and dangerous  joker looking zombie master. Whom are they fighting against? Will B find a reason to join them in this strange battle they all are training for?

My rating: 3 out of 5. I have been giving constant 3 stars to this series from the book 1. This is another interesting book in Zom-B series I enjoyed reading.

Edge of End **I was given a free electronic version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am a big fan of fantasy and when I saw that this book had a hero with memory loss who was trapped in an unknown town, I had to dive into this. Looking at the synopsis I couldn’t resist reading it. I enjoyed reading this book and the characters are easy to relate to.

Jonathan wakes up in an unknown place, memories wiped from his head. When he heads deep into the town nearby, he experiences strange things.  In a town of nothingness where there is nothing but emptiness, he tries to find out who he is and where he has come from. But soon he realizes the danger and evil dwelling beneath the calm town. There is something in this seemingly dead town seeking fresh souls. With the newly found hope after meeting a female resident -Elizabeth, will he succeed in his journey?

Mystery, amnesia and soul sucking demons wow! give me more. This story is unusual and fresh. My rating : 3.5 Other than too much of chasing and escaping (which I felt a bit of repetitive and boring) everything was interesting. I would definitely read more books from this author to know more about his writing.

The last olympianYay! here goes another series, completed.  ”Percy Jackson and the Olympians” was a thrilling and exciting journey and I am glad that I picked this series to read. ”The Last Olympian” is the final installment and it was a real joy ride. For four previous books, I felt like Percy was very BLAH as a hero. He was just following some prophecy doing adventure with his friends but this book showed his heroic qualities, he really stood up for others and supported the team when there was no one to handle the situation.

The time for the final big battle is here. Titan is tricky and cunning he has power to win. Gods are busy fighting Typhon and Kronos is planning to destroy Mount Olympus where no one is guarding. But Percy Jackson and his army of demigods are ready to give their life fighting to protect the Mount Olympus. Will they stand against the power of Titan? What is this prophecy everyone is worried about?

My rating is 4 out of 5. The ending was perfect and it gave fuel to my thought. It ended with another puzzle which will make the readers to think hard and guess. Soon I will be starting another series by Rick Riordan – The Heroes of Olympus.
