  • A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks

Book lovers I will be glad to know about your hangovers too, let me know which book gave you a hangover!

Pushing the limitsA good girl falling in love with bad boy, by pushing all the limits. Sounds¬†familiar, but ”Pushing the Limits” by Katie McGarry is familiar but in a different way. It is a heart wrenching young adult romance, where common¬†issues faced by young adults are high lighted. From the beginning I knew, I am going to like it!

Title is very appropriate for the story!¬†Echo Emerson, ex popular girl, and current freak of the school wants her normal life back. She could have got it back but she can’t¬†because she doesn’t remember what¬†happened¬†that day¬†when she got freaky scars on her arms which made her unpopular. She doesn’t remember why her own mother tried to harm her. But doors to her secrets open when she meets¬†Noah Hutchins who sees the same¬†counselor¬†¬†as hers to solve his own personal issues. They plan to find out simple solution for their problem, and the solution is stealing their ¬†case file from the counselor’s office. Will Echo get that day’s¬†memory back? What Noah’s problems are? Will they fall in love while helping each other?

A bittersweet emotional story, my ratings are 4 out of 5. I recommend this book to YA fans.

41sdaKg7ZnL._SL500_S.C Stephens is one of my favorite authors. I love his¬†writing¬†style especially in Conversion series. I have read¬†Thoughtless, Its all relative and Conversion series by this author. ”Effortless” is second book in the ”Thoughtless series”. If you liked thoughtless I am sure you will like this ¬†book.

Who don’t like¬†Rock star Kellan and his cute girl friend Kiera? ¬†I liked their little romance back in fist¬†book. In this book you can find more of their romance and love. Now that kellan & Kiera are together life is good for them. But still past memories are following them like ghosts. Trust is important for a relationship, but when a relationship is started by cheating a third person it is always unsure. Kiera started her relationship with kellan by cheating on her boyfriend Denny. How can Kellan trust her now? Kellan slept with almost every girl in the town before he met Kiera, Kiera can not stand when¬†every other¬†girl knows¬†how it feels to be touched and kissed by Kellan. Now that Kellan is famous and is on world tour will he be able to resist hot girls who can die to get near to him? Denny is back in town will¬†Kiera¬†fall for him again, when Kellan is out of town giving shows?

It is a good college romance, worth reading once. I am sure you won’t be able to resist hot Kellan Kyle. My ratings are 3 out of 5.

The Gift”People tell stories, and it‚Äės up to those who listen whether to believe them or not” ¬†Cecelia Ahern ¬†(The gift)

Cecelia Ahern is a creative writer, one of my favorite authors. Her novels are pretty awesome.I have read many-P.S I Love You, A Place Called Here, Thanks for the memories etc. It is a Christmas novel with a message at the end.

Businessman Lou always has to be in two places at the same time. He liked only work, promotion, getting hikes in salary. He ignored his family, when they complained he thought he was working for them, whatever he is earning is for them, there is nothing to complain. He missed things like his daughter’s school play, holidays with family, spending time with his son. But one day he meets this¬†shelter less¬†poor man Gabe¬†and somehow ends up getting him a mail man’s job where he works,¬†who helps him in his ordeals by giving some special kind of pill¬†that let him be at two places at the same time, something he wanted since always. But one fine Christmas day he comes to know the value of family but that was too late to go back and correct his mistakes.

A wonderful novel for Christmas day. with a message – Family is real treasure. I really liked it and my ratings are 4 out of 5.

The god of small thingsAfter reading ”The White Tiger” by Aravind Adiga I really got¬†fascinated¬†towards¬†Booker¬†prize award winner books. I picked up another book ¬†”The God of Small things”¬†by Indian author Arundhati Roy, for my surprise I totally loved the book. From last 5 years I wanted to read this book, but kept avoiding it thinking award winning books will be boring. Now I will have to change this view towards award winner books.

”The God of Small Things” is really a ¬†master piece. This fiction seems so real here.¬†This is about the sad, poignant breakdown of a family in the 60‚Äôs in a place called Kerala, a state in India. It revolves around a woman called¬†Ammu¬†who has twins called¬†Estha¬†and¬†Rahel.¬†¬†She and her twins reside in an old house with her mother,¬†Mamachi¬†and her cunning aunt,¬†Kochama. She has left her alcoholic husband whom she married against her¬†parent’s¬†will. She finds a lover who is from low caste, and untouchable. Its story of her life, her fight to live. It shows how some people have to really ¬†fight hard to live their life. When Ammu’s brother¬†Chacko ¬†brings his English ex-wife and their daughter for a Christmas visit, the twins learn that things can change in a day and that change changes their life forever.

This book, along with the wonderful story, also focuses on the cruel systems in India such as, cast system, child molestation, male domination etc. Whatever happens here Ammu is the one who suffers. Even though  her husband was alcoholic and was ready to push her  to prostitution people blame Ammu for leaving her husband. It is emotional journey through out the book, we start loving people even the ones who are ugly looking just because they are nice people. You will know answers for all your questions by the end of the book. I was bit disappointed only because of the quick ending, actually I was expecting a complete detailed ending, was looking for something good to happen to the few remaining characters. Anyways it was a good read and my ratings are 4 out of 5.

One dayStory of this book was brilliant! But there was something missing in the book, I failed to find till the end. It is Romance between friends, felt like old wine but in new bottle.

It is a different love story between friends, Emma and Dexter meet each other on graduation day (Emma had crush on Dexter before) and after that day they were¬†separated¬†because¬†there were no strings attached.¬†But their friendship grows with time, even though they date different people they can’t get each other out of their minds. Emma is kind of frustrated with life, always with low spirit, and thinks that her life can not be better than present. But Dexter is optimistic person who always wants to travel or meet new people and do something different. Over 20 years, both have got enough experience in life and have seen thick and thin situations but their affection is still the same. Will the accept that they love each other? What will be the ending of this different love story of friends?

I picked up this book,¬†because¬†I wanted to watch the movie. I always prefer reading books before I watch movie, in that way I don’t spoil my reading and I can compare it with the movie. But after reading this book I am having second thoughts about watching this movie. Anyways it was an average read, I rated it 2 out of 5. I didn’t find anything that special about this book, there were lot of¬†unnecessary things in between the story.¬†It was in best seller list, then again may be it was only me who didn’t like it!

Before I go to sleepOnly one word can explain this book ”Awesome”! My fellow blogger recommended this book saying that ” It is one of those books you literally cannot put down until you know the ending”. I totally agree with her after reading the book. And she told me not to read any reviews of this book before, thinking that some reviews may spoil the suspense for me. I should be very careful while reviewing this book¬†because¬†I¬†don’t¬†want to ruin the fun of others who didn’t read it.

I should say that it is really amazing¬†debut novel! Christine wakes up every morning thinking she is still in her early 20s until she looks in the mirror and¬†realizes¬†she‚Äôs 47 years old. She has to remember her husband and friends by looking at photos plastered in bathroom. The man who sleeps next to her and lives with her says that he is her husband. She has no memory of getting married or loving him, but she has to believe¬†what¬†this man says¬†because¬†she don’t have option. But with the help of doctor she secretly starts to write a journal and finds a way to remember where she kept the journal. There are things which comes back to her memory. She is the only one she can trust. Lovely¬†combination of psychology and mystery. I recommend this book to people who love to read mystery and¬†psychology¬†related novels. My ratings are- 4 out of 5.
